Loudoun Habitat offers volunteer opportunities for individuals who want to invest in the community and the cause of affordable housing. Together, we are building stronger neighborhoods and helping those in need of safe and affordable housing.
Habitat is known as the place where volunteers can help build houses. Volunteers are invited to come build with our experienced crew leaders on any open build day. We usually build on Thursdays and Saturdays with work days starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending around 2:30 p.m. Lunch is provided for our volunteers. We recommend closed toe shoes (boots are best), hat and work clothes. You will also need to complete the Volunteer Waiver paperwork and bring it the first time you volunteer.
The best way to stay informed about where and when Loudoun Habitat is building is to receive the Construction Update email. Use the link “Get Email Updates” at the top of the page to add your name to this email list.
At the ReStore, we work hard to keep our operation costs to a minimum so we maximize the profit donated to Loudoun Habitat to help build homes. Our stores are staffed with a minimum number of paid employees so volunteers are key to our ReStore workforce. That’s why we need you.
- Share and learn new skills.
- Flexible volunteer hours.
- Receive training and support.
Our volunteers assist in a variety of ReStore tasks such as accepting donations, preparing items for sale, pricing inventory, merchandising, answering customer questions and helping load purchases to take home. Relying on volunteers to accomplish this work helps keep the cost of store operations down, helping to drive up profits. Remember that 100% of the ReStore profits are donated to Loudoun Habitat to help build decent, affordable homes throughout Loudoun County.
