Welcome to Loudoun Habitat!

Loudoun Habitat for Humanity was incorporated on April 2, 1993 for the specific purpose of providing adequate housing for all Loudoun citizens in need. It is the conviction of Loudoun Habitat for Humanity that everyone deserves an opportunity to work to obtain adequate shelter. Our ministry is based on Christian principles and we welcome the participation of people of all faiths as we grow the organization and strive to fund and build homes for those in need.

Team Builder News
We are proud to announce that BB&T is Loudoun Habitat for Humanity's “1st Team Builder Sponsor” in support of our Existing Properties Purchase Program. This program is being funded in part through the Federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The funding is administered by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and the Loudoun County Department of Family Services. BB&T's employees spent their work day on site on Friday, January 29th at Habitat's recently acquired Salisbury property doing interior demolition work. Habitat is proud to have BB&T as its first sponsor for this important program.

The Neigborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is focused on helping local governments and non profit housing developers partner together to acquire foreclosed properties for the purpose of rehabilitating them for resale to qualifed partner families. Loudoun Habitat and Loudoun County are working  together to acquire, rehabilitate and re-sell foreclosed properties located in the neighborhoods of Sterling Park and Sugarland Run, two areas that have been adversely impacted by the foreclosure crisis.

AmeriCorps VISTA

Habitat for Humanity International partners with the Corporation for National and Community Service to manage its AmeriCorps VISTA program. This partnership provides HFH affiliates with assistance in their mission to eliminate substandard housing. The AmeriCorps VISTA program provides members opportunities to develop new and creative efforts that focus on permanent, long-range solutions to poverty, rather than short-term approaches for emergency needs.

Loudoun Habitat is pleased to welcome our first AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer to our organization as volunteer coordinator, serving from September 2009 until September 2010.
