Toll Brothers Donates Hundreds of Home Appliances to HomeAid Northern Virginia

Ashburn, VA, (June 22, 2010) —Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL), the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, has donated hundreds of like-new appliances to HomeAid Northern Virginia, a non-profit organization that provides housing for the homeless. HomeAid is coordinating distribution and sales of these appliances with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia and Habitat for Humanity of Loudoun County.

Due to a change in partnership with Toll Brothers’ major appliance provider, the builder will be replacing appliances in its model homes and design studios throughout the country. That leaves more than 1,500 appliances available nationally for donation to those who need them.

“It’s about doing the right thing,” said Bill Gilligan, Toll Brothers Regional President. “It was important to us to find a place where these like-new appliances could be put to good use, and, in our region, we couldn’t think of a better organization to help us with the dispersal than HomeAid Northern Virginia. HomeAid and Habitat for Humanity will ensure that deserving families in the area receive these appliances, and we are happy to contribute,” he added.

The appliances are being sold at local Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore locations to benefit both organizations. Donated appliances include washers, dryers, microwave ovens, ranges, dishwashers, wall ovens, cooktops, and refrigerators. The funds raised will help HomeAid Northern Virginia build and renovate emergency and transitional housing. For ReStore locations and hours, visit www.restorenova.org or www.loudounhabitat.org/restore

"Toll Brothers continues to be a strong supporter of HomeAid Northern Virginia,” said John DeZinno, HomeAid Northern Virginia Board President and Senior Vice President, Bank of America. “In addition to this generous gift, Toll Brothers served as a HomeAid Builder Captain on the $800,000 renovation of Good Shepherd Alliance's Center of Hope in Ashburn, Virginia. This donation is just another way that Toll Brothers demonstrates their support of our mission -- ending homelessness in Northern Virginia."

HomeAid Northern Virginia was started in 2001 by the members of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), and since then we have completed over 45 projects valued at over $10 million. HomeAid Northern Virginia is a chapter of HomeAid America.

HomeAid Northern Virginia leverages the resources of the homebuilding community and its corporate partners to conduct major renovations to shelters, homes, and other facilities to provide safe, stable and new living arrangements for previously homeless individuals and families. HomeAid’s partners and resources help to significantly reduce the construction costs to care provider organizations, allowing them to redirect those dollars back into programs and services for these homeless families and individuals.
