Apply for a Loudoun Habitat Home

Loudoun Habitat for Humanity can make dreams come true...

All your life you have dreamed of owning your own home. By partnering with Loudoun Habitat for Humanity you may be closer to your dreams than you think.

Do You Qualify For A Habitat House?

To be able to purchase a Habitat for Humanity home, you must first meet the basic qualifications listed below. We will be glad to help you through an application process, which includes home visitation interviews. Selection of partners is based on the level of need, the ability to afford a no-interest mortgage, and the willingness and ability to partner in actual construction of a home. Public housing/Section-8 & ADU participants are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Non US citizens must have and provide Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card with photograph (INS Form I-551 or I-151).

  • You have lived or worked in Loudoun County for the last 12 months.

  • You are currently living in overcrowded, substandard, or unaffordable housing.

  • Your annual income falls within the qualifying ranges listed on the reverse side of this form.

  • You have had a steady income for the past 12 months.

  • You have a reasonably good credit record; debts are being addressed by timely payments or other special arrangements. Perfect credit is not required; responsible applicants are.

  • You and/or your family agree to contribute a specified total of sweat equity hours. You and family members (16 years old or older) must be able to work Fridays and/or Saturdays on Habitat houses that are under construction.

If you feel you meet the qualifications above, please proceed with completing the questionnaire below.

 Preliminary Questionnaire Form

Please read this questionnaire to help determine if you are eligible to apply for partnership with Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. If you fulfill the 3 basic requirements ( HOUSING NEED, ABILITY TO PAY, and WILLINGNESS/ABILITY TO PARTNER), please complete and submit this form.  You will receive a response from us upon evaluation of the information you provide.  Priority in the selection process is based on the level of need, the ability to afford a no-interest mortgage, and the willingness to partner.   Note: This form is NOT an application.

 ABILITY TO PAY:

Habitat homeowners must have a stable, but low income that falls within the stated guidelines (see chart above), a reasonable credit history, demonstrating continuing financial responsibility.

Please include total annual income, before taxes, for all family members (18 years old or older) in the household.

 WILLINGNESS/ABILITY TO PARTNER:

You and your family must agree to contribute the specified sweat equity hours. You and/or family members (16 years old or older) must be able to work Fridays and/or Saturdays on Habitat houses that are under construction.
