We are a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
Loudoun Habitat has a minimal staff so we can best serve our county’s needs. This means that we depend on the generosity of our loyal and dedicated volunteers to see our mission through.
When most potential volunteers think about Habitat for Humanity, they think about building houses. And while this is our largest volunteer opportunity, it’s by no means the only one. We have many different volunteer opportunities to suit our volunteers’ interests and talents.
Our ReStore in Purcellville accepts donations of new and gently-used home improvement goods, furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances and then resells them at a fraction of the retail costs. All of the proceeds go toward the construction of homes for our future partner families. We are always in need of able-bodied individuals to help with the accepting & delivering of donations and general store assistance. The ReStore also needs individuals who are able to provide customer service assistance on the floor as well as cash register assistance. Please contact the store manager at 540-579-4508 or email to volunteer.
Loudoun Habitat often hosts or attends special events to promote and raise money for our affiliate. While we need people to help out the Special Events team, we are also always in need of volunteers to attend events as representatives of LHFH and as volunteers to help staff events. As always with Habitat, construction volunteers are needed. You do not need to have any construction experience to build on a Habitat site; we can train you. We do ask that you come wearing construction and weather appropriate clothing, Contact Therese Cashen email or at 703-737-6772 x 104 to learn more.
