Welcome Home Delaney Family

James “Joey” Delaney learned about the Homeownership Program at Loudoun Habitat for Humanity through his family and local community. After some encouragement, he decided to apply to the program with the hopes of finding an affordable place to call home in the county he grew up in and now is employed. Joey is a Loudoun County Public School employee and enjoys his role at Trailside Middle School keeping the grounds safe for the students and faculty.

Joey has spent the past 18 months preparing for homeownership. He completed the Habitat for Humanity Home Buyer’s Club where he learned about the home buying process, how to maintain and care for a home, and money management skills. With the help of his family, Joey completed his sweat equity requirements and contributed to the mission of affordable housing - not just for himself but for others in his community. This included volunteering at Habitat’s annual Raise the Roof Gala, completing administrative tasks in the Habitat office, and working on construction tasks at his own home.

The future is bright for Joey, and he looks forward to the stability and security that comes from owning his own home. Welcome home, Joey!
